Cynthia Frias is a San Antonio–based choreographer, educator, and performer whose work bridges commercial performance, theatrical storytelling, and youth arts education.
A proud graduate of Oklahoma City University’s Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment, Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance with a minor in Spanish. During her collegiate training, she performed as a company member of the American Spirit Dance Company and developed a strong foundation in technical excellence, performance versatility, and ensemble leadership — qualities that continue to shape her artistic voice.
Cynthia’s professional performance career includes TEXAS! The Outdoor Musical in Canyon, Texas, and multiple seasons with SeaWorld San Antonio, where she performed in large-scale productions, parades, and seasonal events including Howl-O-Scream and the Christmas Celebration. Internationally, she completed five contracts with Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, and Disney Fantasy. In addition to performing in featured roles across mainstage productions and entertainment venues, she served in leadership capacities as Line Captain and later as Character Manager within the Entertainment department — overseeing performer integrity, operational excellence, and artistic standards.
Since returning to San Antonio, Cynthia has shifted her primary focus toward choreography, direction, and arts education. Her theatrical choreography credits include productions of Shrek Jr., Finding Nemo Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., and SpongeBob the Musical with various theaters that include Playhouse 2000 and Wonder Theatre. Her work emphasizes character-driven movement, storytelling clarity, and age-appropriate technique development while maintaining high production value and ensemble cohesion.
In addition to her theatrical work, Cynthia is a full-time dance educator and award-winning choreographer for competitive studios and high school varsity and junior varsity dance programs throughout Texas. She is frequently invited as a guest instructor and serves as an adjudicator for Platinum National Dance Competition, Impact Dance Adjudicators, and Crowd Pleasers. Her teaching philosophy centers on cultivating confident, adaptable performers while fostering discipline, professionalism, and artistic curiosity.
Cynthia’s artistic mission is to create environments where young artists feel challenged, supported, and inspired — spaces where storytelling, movement, and leadership intersect. She remains deeply grateful to the mentors who shaped her journey and to the family and community who continue to support her work.
